You want general training (strength/weights, endurance/cardio, balance/stability) for overall health and strength of body and mind, and you will also most likely benefit from some extra focus that is targeted specifically to help you do more of what you want to do in your life.
When I work with my clients, I not only ask them what they are currently doing, but also what they would like to be doing if they could. This helps me to work with them to customize their training so they can enjoy life to their fullest potential. I also work with each client to find training that works well for them based on their likes and dislikes. If you really hate something, you aren't very likely to stick with it. So it's important to find things that you enjoy (or are at least tolerable), that will increase your fitness level to make you feel good and have more strength and energy for your daily activities. More vitality for life!
So get a good training routine going to increase your overall health and fitness. Then figure out what you need to add in to boost your strength and endurance aimed at your own specific goals and dreams in life. You might need to do some research and experimenting to find what is right for you, but you'll love how it makes you feel when you find what works and stick with it. I have a client who has been amazed at how much of a difference she feels from her workouts and never thought she would actually enjoy working out with weights before I got her started with them as part of her gym routine. It's all just a matter of finding what works for you and giving it a chance.
