The girls and I had planned on getting in a 10-mile bike ride after lunch to clock some miles toward our goal for this year. We were all set to go... on schedule, with energy and a bit of sunshine. But the phone rang just as we were headed out the door. You guessed it... interruption time. Something else required our attention. For the next few hours. Our bike ride had to be postponed until after supper. But after supper the weather wasn't as nice as it had been, nor was my energy level up to par after dealing with the unexpected circumstances earlier in the day, and then making supper, eating, and taking care of supper cleanup afterwards. I contemplated just not going. I simply didn't feel like it.
But then I thought about our goal. So I decided we would head out and at least get in a quick 5-mile ride. Better some than not at all. But as usual, after getting started I felt better. We ended up doing our 10 miles after all. Even though we got started fairly late, we still got back before dark and enjoyed a lovely late evening view of St. Mary's Mountain along the way.
Sometimes I just don't feel like doing something, so I have to make up my mind to just do it regardless of how I feel. If my mind says I'm going to do something, my body has a way of following along. And I always feel better afterwards. So when you have those times and you just don't feel like it... give it a try. Remember your goals and just do it. :)
