It was a bit crisp out there this October morning, but snow has a way of adding a special touch of beauty to our views. Since we don't get to choose our weather, we take what we get and enjoy it for what it is. :)

We did indeed hit our low of 29'F this morning as the weather forecast predicted. It's a little brisk, but not bad. And we got a bit more snow on St. Mary's Peak this morning as well. This is a zoomed in view of the fire lookout tower from our house. Bet the guy manning it right now has an awesome view today!! :)
A bit of beautiful color in the sky over the mountains tonight. The crags are in the clouds with a dusting of snow in early September. The cold has moved in today. Expecting to hit a low of about 29'F in the valley by morning. Brrr! It was definitely a windy fall day for my walk/run this morning! I discovered this little home in the trees, wavering in the wind but holding strong. It fared much better than the aspen tree that snapped in half and fell across our path today!
Not an actual sighting yet, but circumstantial evidence reveals our yearly visitor has returned. I discovered this recent bear scat at our place today. Time for us to be on high alert again when out and about. Wildlife abounds! :)
The morning dew enhances the beauty of wildflowers and grasses.
One of my many delights that greet me on my morning walks. :) Mama deer has been staying on the property since her recent baby was born. While mama deer comes to visit us, she leaves her fawn off in the tall grasses and woods to keep her safe. We get glimpses of the two of them together every now and then. Look how high baby can jump already! She's growing so fast!
My evening run was interrupted for a bit when I met up with mama and baby on our trail just ahead of me. I went and got my camera in time to get one quick pic as mama headed to drop baby back off in the woods again. So fun to watch them! :) Our mama deer. She comes to visit almost every day. Sometimes twice a day, morning and evening. She had a young one with her at times, but now that it's getting older, it doesn't always come with her. But mama deer knows us well and comes to visit quite regularly. I'm always delighted to see her. Looks like she's got another baby coming. :) |
