My evening run was interrupted for a bit when I met up with mama and baby on our trail just ahead of me. I went and got my camera in time to get one quick pic as mama headed to drop baby back off in the woods again. So fun to watch them! :)
Mama deer has been staying on the property since her recent baby was born. While mama deer comes to visit us, she leaves her fawn off in the tall grasses and woods to keep her safe. We get glimpses of the two of them together every now and then. Look how high baby can jump already! She's growing so fast!

Our mama deer. She comes to visit almost every day. Sometimes twice a day, morning and evening. She had a young one with her at times, but now that it's getting older, it doesn't always come with her. But mama deer knows us well and comes to visit quite regularly. I'm always delighted to see her. Looks like she's got another baby coming. :) Yesterday's snowstorm has passed, and today's sunshine and views are back. :) View of Bass Creek Crags from our house today. Bitterroot Mountains, MT. The mountains were hidden behind the snow today.
Our little quail came to visit again this morning. I'm always amused by these quirky little birds and love to watch them skittering about! I love a full moon in the black sky and how it lights up the dark of night in rural Montana where we live outside of the glow of city lights. It's kind of mesmerizing at 2:30am. :) Where there is food, expect wildlife. That is exactly what happens around here quite often. Little critters have a way of attracting birds of prey. Which, of course, lures us into taking the time to watch and photograph them. On my morning run today, I had the privilege of viewing six vultures and a heron. They were all looking for breakfast, and I was glad I wasn't on the menu. ;) Birds of a feather, flock together. When I first saw these vultures in the tree, there were three of them. But more kept arriving until there were six. Watching vultures hang out together in a tree always reminds me of the ones in Disney's Jungle Book movie. LOL! :) Ha ha! It was fun to watch these guys fool around. But time required me to get my run in and back to other things. Eventually they got tired of hanging out in the tree and soared around overhead while I ran. Always something in nature that amuses me. :)
