We hiked up Blodgett Overlook earlier this week, but had some extra time left to head up Canyon Creek afterwards. It was definitely less windy in the canyon, so a bit warmer and more enjoyable for this part of our hike. You can read about and see photos of the Blodgett Overlook portion of our hike in my previous post.

While hiking along and enjoying the views, we had been coming across plenty of moose droppings in the trail. We didn't think much of it, since seeing moose droppings on our hikes has been very common this year.

What was out of the ordinary for us, was suddenly coming across a huge pile of animal hair in the middle of the trail. This much was quite unusual and stopped us in our tracks.

Wow! We took a few moments to look around and found a moose leg nearby. We searched the area and discovered more parts randomly scattered about a talus field.

We had no way of knowing the story of what happened. But apparently this moose had either died or been killed in the trail, and then likely various animals had a good meal.

We continued on a ways, getting to only a couple patches of snow on the trail before it was time to turn around. We took a quick break and headed back down the trail again.

This trail is one of my favorites, but after thinking about it, I don't think I have very many non-favorite trails. LOL! :)

As usual, we discovered some interesting rock areas to come back and explore another day.

We never tire of the beautiful wildflowers that abound in every direction.

And as always... I'm looking forward to our next mountain adventure soon. :)
