Rather than look for an easy 5K to be my first race, I chose an interesting one: the Mountain to Meadow 5K at Lolo Pass on June 15th. It was a beautiful day for a run! :) Beginning at the Lolo Pass Visitor's Center, the paved road quickly turns to dirt with the usual ups and downs of mountain roads. It was more challenging for my first run, but I prefer fresh mountain air, beautiful views, and dirt under my feet. It was definitely a wonderful choice! :) The terrain was a little different than I expected (I didn't expect to be running uphill at the end), so my time was not quite as good as I'd hoped based on my recent training times. But I was happy with my run: finished under 30 minutes, placed 1st for my age group, 3rd for women (all ages), and 7th of 41 overall. Success and fun! :) |

Thanks, Dana! :) Hmmm... not sure what is next? While I have been thinking about riding a camel, I probably won't be running with any bulls anytime soon. LOL! Paragliding definitely has my interest, but my husband is not so sure about the safety of it, and I haven't finished checking into it much. ?? And as you know, I've always got some hiking challenges ahead of me. Time will tell what pops up on my horizon next.... :)
